SAN JOSE DE BUENAVISTA, Antique — The Department of Education (DepEd) in Antique thanked the recent turnover of the StarBooks, a digital library, by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) to a school in the province.

“The DOST, by developing the StarBooks, is making the resource learning materials more accessible to students,” DepEd Division of Antique Superintendent Victor De Gracia said in an interview Tuesday. De Gracia said that the StarBooks contains the K to 12 modules.

“The StarBooks could be used even by the schools where there’s no internet signal yet,” he said.

Alangan Bungsod Cubay Elementary School principal Jesusa Marfil said they are fortunate that their school in Sibalom is the first recipient among the other schools in the 18 towns of the province.

“The StarBooks will be useful not only to the students but to the teachers as well,” she said.

She added that the DOST also gave two computer units to the school.

DOST Regional Director Gelonga said they intend to distribute a total of 36 StarBooks and computers. Each of the 18 towns of the province will receive two units within this year.
