HCCI Receives Free-Access to SciTech Gen

STARBOOKS

Aiming to have access to Science and Technology Information for their research and scientific needs, the Holy Child Central Colleges, Inc. (HCCI) in Surallah, South Cotabato received a free portal of the Science and Technology Academic and Research-Based Openly-Operated Kiosk Stations (STARBOOKS) from the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) XII on July 26, 2021.

STARBOOKS is known containing thousands of digitized Science and Technology information resources in text and AVP formats, and with its specialized features being a standalone information kiosk.

Regional Director Engr. Sammy P. Malawan, CESE of DOST XII, and Administrative Director Vanessa Marie L. Antiquin of HCCI signed the Memorandum of Understanding for the proper use, handling and security of the STARBOOKS portal.

Director Malawan said that the STARBOOKS also known as the digital library in a box, provision to this prestigious school in Surallah is significant and beneficial for all the school learners and experts, and thereby will inspire them to develop new innovations and inventions. Director Antiquin of HCCI extended her gratitude for this partnership with the DOST. “Let us grip the knowledge provided in this kiosk and promote its impact not only for our students but also for the teachers,” She mentioned.

Meanwhile, an orientation and overview of the STARBOOKS’s features, functions, and technicalities to 12 school participants followed. Engr. Mahdali Alonto R. Alonto, Director of PSTO South Cotabato acknowledged the presence of all the participants in the event during his closing remarks.

In this endeavor, STARBOOKS made a big influence on the future professionals of Holy Child Central Colleges, Inc. in the field of Science and Technology.
