LOOK: Amado Quirit Sr Nhs, as one of the beneficiaries, represented by School Head Mary Faith Inong Villarubia and ICT Coordinator Marc Zyrel C. Maceren joyfully received a STARBOOKS-ready facility consisting of a computer set (CPU, monitor, AVR, speaker, keyboard) along with computer stand/ table and a Router today, January 26, 2022, at Alabel National Science High School gymnasium.
STARBOOKS is an acronym for Science and Technology Academic and Research-Based Openly-Operated Kiosk Station. Known as ‘Library in a Box’, it is accessible even without an internet connection making it an ideal tool for knowledge and learning resources in remote or far-flung areas.
The distribution was done after the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the implementation of the DOST-STARBOOKS between the Regional Director, Department of Science and Technology 12 (DOST XII), Engr. Sammy P. Malawan, representatives of Hon. Steve C. Solon and Hon. Rogelio D. Pacquiao, OIC- Provincial Director, DOST XII – PSTC SarGen, Nabil A. Hadji Yassin, SDS Gildo G. Mosqueda, and EPS Norma Rendon.
This facility will be available at the School Learning Resource Center (SLRC) for easy access of parents, teachers, and students.
