STARBOOKS Nature was officially launched at the Central Visayas 2023 RSTW celebration at Dumaguete City on September 20, 2023.

A joint project by DOST-STII and DOST-Region 7 through the Provincial S&T Office of Negros Oriental and support coming from the Provincial Government of Negros Oriental, DENR Region 7, Silliman University, and Negros Oriental State University.
STARBOOKS Nature seeks to contribute to overall efforts toward the preservation of wildlife, promotion of environmental education, and enhancement of ecotourism in Negros Oriental by leveraging suitable ICT solutions.
STARBOOKS Nature will feature the following protected areas: Apo Island Protected Landscape and Seascape, Balinsasayao Twin Lakes Natural Park, and Tañon Strait Protected Seascape.
Tourists and visitors can experience the interactive kiosk at STI Exhibits showcased on the celebration of the Central Visayas 2023 Regional Science, Technology, and Innovation Week (RSTW) with the theme Siyensya, Teknolohiya, at Inobasyon: Kabalikat sa Matatag, Maginhawa, at Panatag na Kinabukasan.
