DOST-STARBOOKS, an acronym for Science and Technology Academic and Research-Based Openly Operated Kiosks, functions as a digital library, serving as a comprehensive repository of Science and Technology (S&T) information. This innovative platform aims to enhance the learning experience and foster science and knowledge creation in rural areas.

“A Memorandum of Understanding Signing Ceremony Elevates STEM Education at LAMS”

In a momentous event that signifies a collaborative leap towards educational innovation, Lord’s Angels Montessori School, Inc. (LAMS) celebrated the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Signing Ceremony with esteemed officials from the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and key figures from the school’s administration.

Aiming to improve education, especially in rural areas across the region, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Region 02, through its Community Empowerment through Science and Technology (CEST) program, awarded Science and Technology Academic and Research-Based Openly Operated Kiosks STARBOOKS) to seven (7) DepEd schools in the region on January 29, 2024, at the DOST R02 conference hall.

Public elementary schools in two islands and an upland village in Sagay City, Negros Occidental got a learning boost through the computerized information kiosks or electronic (e)-libraries of the Science and Technology Academic and Research-Based Openly Operated KioskS or STARBOOKS of the Department of Science and Technology-Science and Technology Information Institute (DOST-STII).

The Department of Science and Technology III and Don Bosco Technical Institute Tarlac Inc. (DBTI) jointly signed a Memorandum of Agreement for the installation of the Science and Technology Academic and Research-Based Openly Operated Kiosk or STARBOOKS.
