DOST-developed S&T information system, STARBOOKS or the Science & Technology Academic and Research‐Based Openly‐Operated Kiosk System, was provided to indigenous peoples (IP) schools in Tubungan, Iloilo.

DOST Bicol returned to Cawayan High School (CHS) in Manito, Albay for a refresher on the Science and Technology Academic and Research-Based Openly-Operated Kiosks (STARBOOKS) program.

The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) recently signed an agreement with 69 public elementary schools and nine public high schools here for the rollout of the Science and Technology Academic and Research-Based Openly-Operated KioskS (STARBOOKS) program.

Mountain Support PH Inc. (MSPI), a non-stock, non-profit youth and women-led organization that aims to give support to socially vulnerable communities, has donated two solar-powered STARBOOKS to two IP schools in Oriental Mindoro: Panaytayan Elementary School and Sinariri Elementary School.

DOST-STII presided over the installation, user training, and mass orientation on STARBOOKS at the Francisco P. Felix Memorial National High School in Cainta, Rizal on March 14, 2024.

PSTO-Pampanga introduced STARBOOKS to the Women’s Association of Brgy. Maimpis on March 11, as part of Women’s Month celebration. This initiative aims to empower women, enabling them to contribute to the sustainability of their community by leveraging on the TAMANG DOSTkarte Livelihood Videos which is one of the components of STARBOOKS. These are science and research-based videos tailored to stimulate entrepreneurial mindset, skills, and provide essential knowledge for livelihood opportunities.

The Association of Science and Mathematics Educators of Private and Public Schools (ASMEPPS), in collaboration with DOST-Science and Technology Information Institute and the Department of Education, turned over STARBOOKS-ready computer units to Casilagan Integrated School and Anini-y Central School in regions I and VI respectively on the occasion of the 10th National Battle of Math and Science Champions at the University of Baguio on March 9, 2024.
