April 30, 2021- It’s the end of the month but it’s the start of a new day for P.C. Bayanihan ES as the school receives the first-ever digital S & T library in the country, also known as STARBOOKS, with the MOU duly notarized to seal the terms and conditions for its use.
Ms. Zenaida D. Guiano, the DOST Sultan Kudarat Provincial Director, gave the orientation followed by the training for the admin and the users given by Mr. Camarodin Pendatun, Science Research Specialist I of DOST.
“In the training, we were taught how to create our account and how to navigate the system, from doing the research to giving customer feedback. Aside from that, we also learned the different programs and services being given by DOST”, shared Girlie Posanso, the ICT coordinator and one of the participants.
Some of the best features of STARBOOKS are: it is a standalone info kiosk, hence, can be accessed even offline; it is a one stop S&T info source with videos on entrepreneurship and others; it can cater multiple access; and it is FREE. 🙂
“We have very limited learning resources in the library as well as very limited internet connectivity so this will be a great help for the teachers, and more so, to our learners. Our alumni who wishes to do their research on S&T may also come and visit for research purposes,” the principal, Ms. Yturalde, said.
