The DOST Biliran PSTO successfully launched today, September 2, 2022 the STARBOOKS or the Science and Technology Academic Research-Based Openly-Opererated Kiosks at the Mother Crucifix Caputo Academy in Villa Cornejo, Kawayan, Biliran.
The activity is part of DOST commitment to the school under the Community Empowerment through Science and Technology Program or CEST under the Human Resource Development priority area, which aims to support the development of Smart Communities, which is the new DOST’s Administration’s approach to making science and technology relevant to the people.
The launching was highlighted by the signing of Memorandum of Agreement between DOST, represented by Dr. Romeo Dignos, PSTD and the school principsl Sister Teodula Furones. Then it was followed by a brief demonstration of STARBOOKS to the students and the school librarian.
The CEST project is implemented by DOST Biliran in partnership with Biliran Province State University-Biliran Campus.
