Department of Science and Technology (DOST) XII Cotabato Province took part in putting ideas into realization leveraging Science and Technology through implementation of CEST Program.
July 12 marks a significant event as DOST XII thru the directives of Regional Director Engr. Sammy P. Malawan led the ceremonial turnover of PhP 423,000.00 worth of Equipment including 50 units of Solar Lights and 8 units of computer sets with wifi router installed with STARBOOKS to people’s organization of Brgy. Dado, Alamada.
The CEST-Program of DOST aims to transform the poor communities into progressive, empowered, and resilient ones thru S&T interventions. This program encourages change in their perspectives in life and enables them to look beyond their potential capabilities.
In partnership with Provincial Governor Emmylou “Lala” Taliño Mendoza with the support of 1st district Congressman Joel S. Sacdalan and Notre Dame of Midsayap College, the activity was successfully completed.
During the commitment of support, Hon. Antonio C. Camino Sr., the Chairman of the recipient barangay said: “Madamo gid nga salamat sa DOST kay isa kami nga naka-avail sa programa maong amoa gid kining ampingan og gamiton sa tama alang sa kalambuan sa among barangay”.
PD Michael Mayo gave details as to how the program works. “The said project also responds to the social and economic concerns aligned to the Sustainable Development Goals.” He further encouraged LGUs in the utilization of DOST developed technologies to provide income opportunities to their service communities.
