With the opening of face-to-face classes in the Municipality of Concepcion in Misamis Occidental, DOST MisamisOccidental turned over seven (7) STARBOOKS desktop units with smart TVs and printers last September 16, 2022 at Concepcion National High School, Brgy. Poblacion, Concepcion.
Under the Community Empowerment through Science and Technology (CEST) E-ACCeST or the Enhancing ACCessibility to Science and Technology Project, the following schools will now have digital access to science and technology (S&T) information:
– Concepcion National High School
– Concepcion Central School
– Malvar Elementary School
– Migubay Elementary School
– Balongkot Elementary School
– Debaloy Elementary School
– San Francisco Elementary School
LGU-Concepcion Vice Mayor Ronel Montipon, together Mr. Aproniano Panorel, the municipal administrator and Mr. Domingo Maulas, the DepEd district supervisor for Concepcion, graced the ribbon cutting activity.
The digital library dubbed as STARBOOKS or the Science and Technology Academic and Research-Based Openly-Operated KioskS (STARBOOKS) is a stand-alone information source designed to reach those with limited or no access to S&T information resources.
During the activity, the school heads, IT personnel and librarians from the different schools were oriented on the operation, report generation and interactive features of STARBOOKS.
