In an aim to access the thousands of digitized science and technology resources for the students at Indang National High School (INHS), DOST CALABARZON through DOST- Provincial S&T Office of Cavite conducted training and deployment of one (1) STARBOOKS unit, September 9,2022. Mr. Laurence Angelo Ferre Bago, Science Research Assistant served as the Resource Speaker and was assisted by Engr. Maiden Keith Rodriguez, Project Assistant I.
A total of forty-one participants comprised of the school principal, teachers, librarian, and other staff of the INHS actively participated in one (1) day training. Indang National High School found STARBOOKS advantageous in increasing numbers of their student engaging in the field of Science and Technology and eventually enrolling into S&T courses in tertiary level.
STARBOOKS stands for Science and Technology Academic and Research-Based Openly Operated Kiosk Station developed by the Science and Technology Information Institute (STII). Its special features include the following: (1) It’s a standalone information kiosk, hence, information access is possible even without internet connection; (2) Information available is read-only; (3) It is a compendium of S&T information gathered from all over the world -a one stop S&T information source.
At DOST PSTO-Cavite, we continuously provide S&T interventions to uplift the community. We will ensure the adoption of technologies and application of S&T intervention towards maximum economic and social benefits for the people.
