STARBOOKS or the Science and Technology Academic and Research-Based Openly Operated Kiosk Stations (STARBOOKS) is a stand-alone information source designed to reach those with limited or no access to S&T information resources.
The Department of Science and Technology Region 1 (DOST 1), through its Provincial Science and Technology Center- La Union (PSTC-LU), awarded starbooks units and devices to school-beneficiaries in Santol, La Union on January 28, 2022.

With the continuous implementation of the Community Empowerment through Science and Technology (CEST) Program by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), digital science libraries are installed in selected schools in the country.
A total of ninety (90) computer sets installed with DOST-STARBOOKS were turned over to identified beneficiaries in North Cotabato early this 2022.
Thirty-seven (37) computer units installed with DOST-STARBOOKS were turned over among identified beneficiaries in 2nd District of North Cotabato Province.
