STARBOOKS

The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) has granted the request of Ms. Easter W. Pablo, Librarian IV for the availability of the free STARBOOKS system installation at the Baguio City Public Library. This is a FREE educational resource about Science and Technology (S&T) for academic and livelihood use.

STARBOOKS is a Digital Library developed by the Science and Technology Information Institute (STII) of DOST that stands for Science and Technology Academic and Research-Based Openly-Operated Kiosk Stations.

STARBOOKS contains thousands of digitized Science and Technology (S&T) resources including books, journals, scientific researches, technical, annual reports, and the latest information about S&T in different formats (text and video/audio) placed in specially designed “pods” in a user-friendly application.

It also includes Agriculture, Auxiliary Science of History, Education, Geography & Anthropology, Library Science, Medicine, Science, Social Sciences, and Technology. Entrepreneurs can learn and benefit from the livelihood modules and training videos (Tamang DOSTkarte Livelihood Videos) that range from information about meat processing to the topic of wrought iron.

For offline access and assistance, visit the Internet Section of the Baguio City Public Library located at Burnham Park. A technically-qualified staff and librarian will be on hand to assist you. Those who want to access remotely can create an account at https://www.starbooks.ph/login.

Though the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is still in review, complete onsite set-up was done by Mr. Reynaldo B. Teofilo, Deployment Officer DOST- CAR – STARBOOKS. /Joana C. Dolipas/
