The Kiosk is now available at the library of the said school. Three (3) computer units were installed with the software application during the technical intervention provided by DOST-MIMAROPA through the Provincial Science and Technology Office-Oriental Mindoro. Ms. Mylene M. Aguilar, librarian, was given an orientation and actual demo on how the platform works and its contents. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was also signed between DOST-STII, DOST-MIMAROPA, and the institution.
Developed by DOST-STII, STARBOOKS or the Science and Technology Academic and Research-Based Openly-Operated KioskS is a stand-alone information source created to reach those with limited or no access to S&T information resources. Through the STARBOOKS, students, researchers, and the general public may access a database of livelihood videos, learning materials, general information and other IEC materials for free without the use of internet.
