The Science and Technology Academic and Research-Based Openly Operated Kiosk Station (STARBOOKS) is a stand-alone/ offline computer unit containing hundreds and thousands of digitized resources in various formats (text and video/audio) designed in a user-friendly interface.
Teachers and students went through an orientation and training on the operation and utilization of STARBOOKS, followed by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) led by Engr. Domingo A. PeΓ±a, Jr., Provincial S&T Director of DOST-PSTO Albay.
Engr. PeΓ±a expressed his enjoyment at seeing the number of beneficiaries rise steadily since the program’s implementation in the region. He mentioned that the STARBOOKS have modules that enhance instructional materials, publications, and completed research studies that students and future DOST scholars can utilize. Given the disparity between the number of computers at the school and the number of students, he also urged the teachers and students to make the most use of STARBOOKS.
