The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Cotabato Provincial Office recently organized a STARBOOKS users training for Brgy. Kitacubong, Alamada, North Cotabato. The event was attended by staff from Barangay Hall, with Brgy. Captain of Kitacubong Mr. Nelson B. Palomero leading the group.
Under the direction of RD Sammy P. Malawan and the DOST XII program, the community was provided with computer sets loaded with the DOST-developed STARBOOKS technology and other learning materials, along with WiFi connectivity. The primary goal of the STARBOOKS Users training was to equip attendees with the skills and knowledge necessary to effectively use the STARBOOKS technology, which is a digital learning platform designed to enhance the teaching and learning experience.
The provision of computer sets and STARBOOKS technology is a significant move towards empowering students with access to modern and dynamic learning resources. The Madrasa Islamic School in the area, in particular, can benefit from this initiative as it is now equipped with the latest technology and learning materials. This move also highlights the importance of bridging the digital divide in remote areas and improving access to quality education.
With the support of the DOST, the Brgy. kitacubong can keep up with fast-paced technological advancements and provide students with a comprehensive education. The STARBOOKS users training is a step towards ensuring that the community can make the most of this initiative and benefit from the latest technological advancements. The program aims to bridge the digital gap and bring education to the forefront of development initiatives in the region.
