PSTO-Pampanga introduced STARBOOKS to the Women’s Association of Brgy. Maimpis on March 11, as part of Women’s Month celebration. This initiative aims to empower women, enabling them to contribute to the sustainability of their community by leveraging on the TAMANG DOSTkarte Livelihood Videos which is one of the components of STARBOOKS. These are science and research-based videos tailored to stimulate entrepreneurial mindset, skills, and provide essential knowledge for livelihood opportunities.
Barangay Maimpis is the pioneer BLGU in the City of San Fernando to embrace STARBOOKS, marking a significant partnership with the City LGU to establish community learning hubs equipped with this offline digital science library.
Representatives from the City’s GAD Focal Point System/TWG, Ms. Amalia A. Catacutan, and the CICT Officer, Atty. Francis Villanueva, were present to grace the event and highlight the continuing partnership of the DOST PSTO Pampanga with the City LGU. This collaboration aims to provide all BLGUs with this learning facility for the continuous growth and promotion of science culture and innovation throughout the city.
